Welcome
Welcome back to a new season of exciting films at RFT!
As always, our programme includes a great variety of films with something to please everyone. Book group members will be pleased that we will be showing the films of Gone Girl and The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared, both of which have been popular book group choices. If you are planning to come to RFT with your fellow readers remember that we are able to offer special group entry rates.
Special events this season include a talk by Lisa Purse from the University’s Film, Theatre and TV Department on Tuesday October 7th to introduce the film Lucy and on Wednesday December 10th we are delighted to welcome the director, Deborah Perkin, who will be taking questions and answers about her film Bastards.
Some of you may know that this summer Reading held a Fringe Film Festival in which local film makers had to produce a short film within only 24 hours and we will be showing the 3 winning films before Borderlands on Thursday October 30th, our Halloween special.
In order to ensure that we are able to continue to offer you the best selection of films, we have had to adjust our prices this year. A year’s membership from September has increased to £20 but the price of tickets for members has been reduced to £5 per film. Non-members will pay £8 per ticket and concessions (OAPs, students or unemployed) will pay £7 per ticket. As before, membership of RFT represents good value and the cost of joining is offset if you attend just 7 screenings during the year.
