RFT (Reading Film Theatre) was established 50 years ago as an independent cinema bringing the very best in world films to you. Our programme includes the latest blockbusters as well as a wide range of smaller budget and foreign language films. We also screen beautifully made films which raise important and challenging issues you won’t find on the multiplex circuit.

Previously we were based at the University of Reading but sadly, operating independently with our own projection equipment, was no longer viable after the COVID lockdown. Fortunately we were approached by the newly established Reading Biscuit Factory and invited to participate in their exciting new community hub. RFT and RBF have agreed to show films selected by RFT once a fortnight on Wednesday evenings starting on Weds 27th April. The first film to be shown will be the French classic Amélie which was voted by RFT audiences their favourite film of the last 50 years .
