Haenel is mesmerizing in The Unknown Girl, she plays Dr Jenny Davin, a committed medic who works in a small surgery. One evening whilst working late she tells her intern to ignore a late ring at the surgery door. The call that she refuses to answer turns out to have been from a young African woman, later found dead nearby, driven by guilt Jenny is determined to unearth her name, but in the process discovers more about the facts of her death, as well as secrets in the lives of certain of her patients.
