When Cameron Post’s (Chloë Grace Moretz) parents die suddenly in a car crash, her shocking first thought is relief. Relief they’ll never know that, hours earlier, she had been kissing a girl. Relief is quickly replaced with new worries when she is forced to move in with her conservative aunt Ruth. Cameron is soon shipped off to a conversion therapy centre that treats teens “struggling with same-sex attraction.” For the first time, Cameron connects with peers, and she is able to find her place among fellow outcasts.
