In the last documentary of the season of Contemporary Brazilian Music Films, we follow the musician Dominguinhos to explore how the accordion is played in different regions across the country, from the arid North East to the cold plains of Rio Grande do Sul. However, The Miracle of Santa Luzia is much more than a documentary about an instrument: it is a beautiful portrait of Brazil and its people, and an important account of the incredible richness of its musical traditions. After the film we will have a Q&A with director Sérgio Roizenblit and the accordion player Luciano Maia.
