Hank (Paul Dano) is stranded on a deserted island. About to kill himself, he notices a corpse washed up on the beach that he calls Manny (Daniel Radcliffe). An unusual friendship develops between the two, as Hank discovers that his friend can not only speak, but has a series of abilities that can help him get back home. This tender and funny fairy tale, winner of the Sundance ‘Directing Award’ to Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, is a poignant look at the relationships that can happen unexpectedly.
