Kena and Ziki are determined to get more out of life than just becoming good Kenyan wives. When they fall in love they are forced to keep their relationship secret, in a country where same sex relationships are outlawed. This film was initially banned in Kenya where it was seen as promoting lesbianism. It was also the first Kenyan film to be shown at Cannes and has won numerous awards around the world.
