This inspiring film is the story of Harriet Tubman, the heroic slave rebel who became a legendary conductor of the secret Underground Railroad in early 19thC USA. Tony and Grammy winner Cynthia Eviro (‘Widows’) is ‘sublime’ (The Guardian ) in the role of the woman who escaped from a slave plantation to the abolitionist north and then led daring and dangerous trips back to rescue more slaves, using the famous network of refuges and safe passage routes.
