University of Reading Film, Theatre and TV Department and RFT Present: Go West plus Movie Prologues from Brazil
A unique opportunity to see Buster Keaton’s wonderful comedy feature Go West, together with the surviving fragment of another extraordinary 1920s film Beggar on Horseback (Cruze, 1925). As part of the AHRC-FAPESP funded Intermidia project, and integrated into the final year of their degree programme, students from the Department of Film, Theatre & Television will perform “Doing it the Pirandello way…” and “The Stylised Cowboy”, originally staged to accompany the films in Rio de Janeiro in 1926, as a prelude to these classics of silent cinema.
