Following the death of her estranged father, Ronit (Rachel Weisz), returns from her modern city life in New York to an oppressive Orthodox Jewish community in London. Previously shunned by the community due to her friendship with Esti (Rachel McAdams), their passion is rekindled on Ronit’s return. Based on the book by Naomi Alderman, this film is beautifully shot in muted and subdued colour tones.
