A contemporary drama. Following his sister’s brutal death in a Paris terrorist attack, David, a twentysomething sweet feckless man, is jolted in adulthood when this ordeal appoints him the guardian of his seven year old traumatised old niece. The film shows how these people cope after tragedy. There is no training course for basic humanity, sheer compassion and coming to terms with unexpected new responsibilities. It takes a lot of love. The young uncle and his niece have nearly the same young mindset. They mature together with the same candour and it seems that a game of tennis can soothe a great pain…for a while. The two actors’ performance is soaked with emotion.
